A very short post this week but essential as it aims to put one of the blog readers mind at ease (that'll be you Mr. B).
I only had limited time to hobby this week having 'volunteered' to help Mrs. P with a number of gardening project and so I thought I'd best progress some 18th C stuff I need for the new year.
And here they are already for painting...
Firstly some line cavalry.

And then some heavy cavalry.

And finally some dragoons.

All of these figure are from Warlord Games.
It's strange the difference in components between these boxed sets and the infantry sets (and I'm not talking the obvious). When I assembled the infantry it was basically two pieces per footman (body and leg) and insufficient headwear to do a unit wearing anything but tricorns. This box goes to the other extreme, 6 pieces per figure (why the legs are separate I don't know) and shed loads of alternate headwear and torsos - in fact you get 24 of one torso variation when you only 12 men in the box.
I'll make a start on one of these next week, and will try to fit in some 'weird stuff' as well, until then - bye!!
Well done on starting the cavalry. I imagine they'll be done by next week?
I actually tried Contrast paints on some horses last year and experimented with different undercoats. Cork/Dark Beige worked well, even Burnt Orange (although the latter needed several coats).
And aren't the cavalry really horrible?
